This is the new community centre for the residents of the Walmsley Friendship Village in Kilsyth, for Australian Unity. The village is set within an open woodland of majestic gum trees, and has filtered views of Mt Dandenong.

We were inspired by natural environment of the village and the strong social underpinnings of the village design. The new community centre provides a new social hub for the residents, and form and materials have been chosen to sit well within the existing village context.

The centre is designed to support the multiple activities that residents enjoy including dinners, indoor bowls, billiards, and arts and crafts. The centre also has a cinema, library and administration offices.
